We are currently tied for 6th in the ACC.

We are 5-5 as follows:
Wins over #3, #4, #6, #12, and #15
Losses to #1, #2, #6, #6, and #13
The loss to #13 (Miami) is the only “bad” ACC loss we’ve had. The other four were to the top two teams in the conference and to the two teams tied with us at #6.
The wins are to two teams ahead of us, one tied with us, and to two below us.
If we keep playing basketball like we have been this month, we will be just fine. Go Tigers!

It really all comes down to mental toughness the rest of the season

I'm actually not sure why they are even bothering with this lowly college basketball stuff this season.

As is the norm under Brownell poor early season play has left us with no margin for error as we approach the back half of the conference schedule. Despite your denials the ACC sucks this season and will almost certainly be capped at 5 bids. If the ACC tournament were seeded today we’d be 7 or 8th. With 10 ACC games left we will only play 2 ranked teams. But that doesn’t fully paint the picture of how abysmal the ACC is. With 10 games left we will only play 2 teams with NET rankings better than 50. We will play twice as many sub-100 RPI ACC teams (4) than we will top 20 (2). It is hard to fathom an ACC that is truly this bad at basketball.
We still have a chance at an NCAA bid but it remains a slim one. 5-5 will not get it done. 6-4 becomes a maybe depending upon ACC tournament. 7-3 would make us a probably in. But if we’d picked up a couple wins between VT, Minn, South Carolina, Yale, and/or Miami things would be entirely different. If we’d won 2 of 3 from South Carolina, Yale, and Minn it would have also improved our NET ranking enough that it might have given us a shot as a 6th bid from the ACC.
After the Duke game I went on record that .500 ball would not get us in the tournament and stand by it. The Syracuse game was a fun one. But it only got us back to .500 since the Duke game. We absolutely have to win 3 of the next 4 to have a legit shot at the NCAA.

Do I love my Tigers, yes. Will I watch/listen every time they're on, you bet ya. However, viz is correct. ACC hasn't been this down in med and women's bball in a long time. Shoulda woulda coulda is this team. Enjoy every W. It's exciting but honestly, taking off the orange colored glasses... I just hope we get a high seed in the nit, and maybe make some noise. Perhaps even win it. We're capable of that. Especially where we were a month ago.
Unpopular opinion but I still think we should be making the ncaa tournament at a minimum 3 out of every 5 years. We have everything we need resource wise except a coach that has proven he can do that... In America.

season for this group for a while. The youth, injuries, lack of size, doesn't translate to a tourney team. But for this group, unlike last years veteran team, the NIT would be a building block, as there is some young yalent

At this point, the team is over-achieving in the ACC (underachieved in Dec to OOC foes).
I am kinda shocked. Last year Brad got our guys to turn it around after a poor ACC start, this year too but really, this team should have folded and it has been a good coaching result. I think that the UNC game was a true turning point... but it was as miserable as can be against Yale.
