Watson - draft or no
Nov 27, 2016, 12:58 PM

So last week, he said he was staying and that he wanted another season.
Yet, last night, the announcers kept saying it was his last home game. Researched this and allegedly coach wants him in the draft???? Don't see how that would help us get better recruits....
Anyone have any ideas on what could happen. I don't want to see him go to Cleveland.

I must've missed something because I thought he was just leaving it open for thought? And reading between the lines, "figure" he'll leave...

At the beginning to middle of the season I didn't think he was ready, now he is. I hope he stays but he has certainly earned every dime of his scholarship imo

Regardless of what #4 does,I don't think we have to worry about Cleveland. They want that Trubisky kid from Ohio who plays for the Tarholes!

If it wasn't Cleveland then I would agree, but it has all ready been reported that the Browns want Trubisky with the first pick. And knowing how bad they need a quarter back, and the kid is from Ohio,it makes only perfect sense. Besides, just look at which Rookie quarterback is actually tearing up the league right now. And he was s 4th round pick. Watson will be a good quarterback looking for a team with that need, but I doubt he is the over all # 1 pick to the Browns.

happen in the end. I have read and heard the same, so I am not knocking your report. I just bet in the end Watson will go ahead of him wherever he goes.

I think a lot of it depends on where he's predicted to be drafted and by which team, also the Heisman talk that has now been reignited with the complete meltdown of the Louisville QB. Last year Watson was the cover boy for Sports Illustrated several times, this year, none. His not being DEFINIITE on his decision to leave is partially based on his stock value, added to the fact that he loves playing at Clemson. I guess we will see how it all falls out after the season.

Consensus always was that he was leaving after 3 years but he then stated that he was unsure....however, after last night's performance and a curtain call...I don't see him coming back. That was great way to finish at home.

As much as I'd love to see Deshaun stay, I don't think I could ever advise him to come back. He would be unnecessarily risking a career ending injury that would destroy all his dreams.
And, I thought he made it pretty clear last night when he blew kisses to the stands and waved goodbye. I can only say, "Thank you, young man for wearing orange and being the best quarterback I've ever seen on a college field in over 60 years of watching college football." All the best to you!
