Wasn't the officiating especially bad saturday?

Nov 26, 2018, 9:05 AM

I know, excuses excuses. But really, they were inventing rules on the fly, letting Carolina hold egregiously on every play, only calling pass interference against us (offense and defense) etc. What the heck was up?

Normally I do not say much about the refs as calls usually even out throughout a game. However, Saturday it was obvious the SEC refs were flag happy against Clemson.

PI call against Rogers in the 1st half was terrible. Defender had his back to Rogers and Rogers hardly touched him. Did not give Rogers a competitive advantage against the defender at all. Took a TD away from us.

The PI call against Turner in the 2nd half was terrible as well.

Holding calls against the O-line were missed on every single offensive play.

Disconcerting signals?? ### is that?? Been watching football over 30 years, both college and pro, and have never one time ever heard that penalty called.

Correction - defender had his back to the pass and would not have been able to make a play on the ball. Rogers barely touched him.

Disconcerting signals is when a defender

barks out calls trying to imitate the QB in order to get an illegal procedure penalty.

It looked to me like they called the penalty because

our guys shifted positions (which is totally legal.)

Has there been any confirmation that they were actually yelling "hut hut" or whatnot? They can yell defensive calls all they want.

They still haven't found the replay of Hyatt's "called"

holding. When they can't show the replay on TV, it does make you wonder.

Always good to win.It makes complaining about the one sided officiating easy.

Correct. Every time we play 'bamer, I worry more about the refs than 'bamer.

I hate to say it looked like the refs want to beat the point spread and in the end that is what happened.

Yes. They were really bad.The pass interference calls were a joke.
But they were holding all game. Not only on the o-line, but their wide outs were doing a lot of holding on the quick passes to the outside.
Not one call!!!

The two pass interference calls...

Nov 26, 2018, 9:38 AM

one on offense that negated a touchdown and one on defense that extended a u5c drive and lead to a score were two of the absolute worst call I've seen all year.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

SEC, Baby!

Nov 26, 2018, 12:19 PM

You know an ACC team, especially if that team is Clemson, ain't getting a break from SEC officials.
