Push in person classes back, see that other universities are struggling with positive (not sick) cases. Decide to have online only for the semester and still collect all of that sweet sweet tuition money.

I am an alum, my child is entering his freshman year, and I think this is a valid question.

My son is a sophomore at CU. They are starting online and going to in person on 9/21. He is supposed to move on campus on 9/13. If they went to fully online, I’m sure I’d get a refund for housing but not tuition. However, I don’t think tuition would change regardless of online vs in person.

I received a refund on housing/meal plan portion for my daughter’s on line month. But of course not tuition.

I read where this happened at UNC also and you can bet your rear end this was the plan. If I had a kid in college right now, they would be going the tech school online route.

No way I would shell out the money to do the on again off again in person classes.

It pretty much comes down to, they need people in the dorms so they can charge for housing, yet will want you to take your classes online in a dorm room as opposed to the cheaper alternative at your own home.
