Was it Van Smith that missed that receiver for the TD?

I didn't record the game, and only saw the replay briefly. It seemed that perhaps Smith was lined up far to the outside receiver, leaving the slot receiver a straight shot to the end zone.

What am I missing here?

What call was Smith taking from BV that made him line up like that?

I watched that play several times trying to figure out what happened....Tanner Muse was over on the one receiver side too. We had three guys covering the one guy by himself...didn't make any sense.

It was Tanner Muse that blew the assignment. He was supposed to track back to deep middle

Minus the fumble scoop up....he seemed to have a terrible night all around.

Are lack of experience at the safety position was evident. The Cuse offense puts a lot of pressure on them because of their shifts and high tempo.

The FS in BV's D is asked to do too much at times, good

offensive coaches know how to get open against them, that is why the busted coverage almost always comes from the FS

Van did a good job at FS last year, but he didn't come up
