Where does the Syracuse game rank for comeback wins?

Oct 1, 2018, 9:56 AM

Not counting the 16 Nat'l Championship, anyway. Given all the circumstances involved, and that last 94-yard drive with the guy who one week ago was QH3, I'd think it's maybe Top 10, even though on paper it wasn't a "big game" like some others that would make the list. It was big in that if we lost, our CFP hopes are pretty much done since our schedule is so underwhelming.

I don't have one of those memories where I remember every game, but there was a UVa game back in the early 90s, I think, maybe even they still had yet to beat us, when we were down 21 or more points and came back to win.

What are some of the other big comeback wins that stand out to you?

#3 behind the UVa 28 point comback and the NC of course

The almost NCSU comeback is up there

This Really Isn't A Comeback....

Oct 1, 2018, 10:12 AM

but instead maybe a rally? The game was in 2006 Gaines Adams had a game changing 66-yard fumble return for a TD on a botched field goal attempt in the fourth quarter to cut the Demon Deacons lead to 17-10. The Tigers scored 24 points in the fourth period to gain the victory.

Since Gaines is no longer with us this game is special memory . I think we may have lost that game if they'd have scored again . The momentum wasn't with us until Gaines's return .

Yes...I was there and that was unreal! Didn’t Ricky Sapp break his wrist in that game? I will never forget that game! Gaines Adams was spectacular RIP Gaines

Wake Forest 2006

The Tigers were down 14 going into the 4th quarter.. then this happened, and Clemson exploded for 24 unanswered points.

JD...beat me to it.

Have to include 4th & 16 in this list

Trailed LSU 24-13 heading into 4th quarter before winning. That game is without a doubt the catalyst for our current success.

I seem to remember a big one vs MD

Not sure about early 2000s but we were down 18 against MD in 2011.

Sammy had what i think was our last kickoff run for TD that game.

That's the one I was thinking about***
