I bet big Dex has a better career! We don't need any more DTs but I will take him but it is not a big deal. We need to be more focused on Mullen IMO.

You are all morons stressi?g on weather Gary comes to Clemson or not when we already have the best DT lineup in CFB. Ofcourse I want him but it's really no big deal he can go to Michigan and it would not bother me one bit. Half of you guys act like he is life or death to our football team.

Because we are thin at DE and he played that position in high school. On top of that we are 6 deep at DT. Not that he couldn't place there

I hope he comes to Clemson!! Dang people cannot read. I'm just saying if it came down I would rather have Mullen because we need a good CB! I have seen more post about Gary today than any player that has ever played for Clemson and for all we know he could go to Michigan.

aside, star rankings mean nothing to me other than for marketing/ national media coverage. Besides, it's so subjective that it is hard to give it too much real merit. I think if there has ever been an example of how meaningless these things are (freshmen experience, star ranking, etc.) it is Clemson. The last 2 years on both sides of the ball have been indisputable examples based on actual numbers, not espin, etc.
One of my professors told the story of another professor's 1st day of class that only covered 3 math problems that have never been solved. One of those students missed the 1st day and asked for a copy of another's notes to catch up. The notes didn't bother to mention they can't be solved so the guy spent his weekend trying to do these 3 math problems. The following Monday, as the story goes, the kid turned in his "homework" with 2 of the three solved. Later he said he didn't know they couldn't be solved and thought it was the homework missed.
My point with this freshmen mentality of it being a deficit and this star assessment. I like the free marketing and the inclination of potential but that sums it up for me. My 2 cents worth and prolly owe some change.
I've never seen anything like this in pretty much every facet of our football and it reminds me of the Miami hype and synergy during their great dynasty excluding the lack of class and arrogance. They are doing the same but doing so with humility, class, and diplomas. Wanna be great? We ARE great! And will be for some time. We've never, ever, had it so good.
