Uniforms

Jan 9, 2015, 3:13 PM

I am a traditional type of guy. However, would it be such a bad idea to incorporate a "bling" or "swag" type of uni that our Tigers can wear ONCE a year?? Why? Changing times. The young people like it, it will bring in extra revenue, marketing, and...what harm will it do? I have to admit, I kinda like what some of the schools have done in terms of having that unique uni. What could that look like?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't have a problem doing it once a year, the kids love

Jan 9, 2015, 3:18 PM

it. If it helps recruiting and makes the kids happy, it's not hurting anything once a year.

I could stand it for one game. But the one you linked is horrid.

I'd much rather use something like this. It's purple but at least it's not a coot color.

oops forgot to link

Correct. And it definitely doesn't go with orange.

Re: Uniforms

I would rather not. BUT I would be willing to be more open minded if it actually brought in any recruits that we could not get without the contemporary uniforms.

Jan 9, 2015, 4:16 PM [ in reply to Re: Uniforms ]

As mentioned above, this would be for only one game to draw in recruits and get the fan base hyped for a black out game. This would not be integrating a new school color by any means...

We should NEVER wear a scar color it really isnt taht hard to figure out.

The three things I would change if we stay traditional

Jan 9, 2015, 3:58 PM

Paws back on the shoulder pads with TV numbers back on sleeves.
Purple facemasks but NEVER change helmet.
Purple stripes added to white pants. Our current pants look drab to me.

Cool. But what's a TV number?***

There isnt a single new "swag" uni I like. I do like what Ohio state did with their new ones though. We could do something similar.

Jan 9, 2015, 5:45 PM

HOW ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!we already have the "purple out" every year... we do not need more to that kind of thing!!Black is absolutely the WORST unis!! and the awful "gray" is next..We are Clemson!! we do not need that TRASH

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No school like the old school

Jan 9, 2015, 6:00 PM

I don't think a new flashy uniform would be bad if worn only for one game, but I think I'm still in love with our current set up. It has a traditional aspect that speaks of endurance and power, while all the orange makes the uniform a bit flashy in its own right. It's prefect. In a day and age where everyone wants to be the next Oregon, I for one want us to stay Clemson

Re: Uniforms

Jan 9, 2015, 6:33 PM

Horrid, no thank you. It seems we get pretty #### good recruits without looking like a Nike hooker.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Umm, No

Jan 10, 2015, 12:58 AM

Clemson's orange uniforms look absolutely beautiful against the green field on modern HD flat screens ....not to mention in person, live up close and personal. The paw is highly recognizable.

I'm amazed at some of the crazy color combinations and logos schools have come up with. Cooterville's logo is notoriously ambiguous UP CLOSE, much less at any distance.

I'm actually an anti-purple uniform as well. We ain't no durn Furman Paladin for heaven sakes. Some purple piping/trim is fine.

And please, no black uni's. That's an old Cooterville trapping as well.

Re: Uniforms

Jan 10, 2015, 2:59 AM

I'm OK with it for one game a season. Orange Tiger stripes with a matte black helmet and orange paw. Could be a Tigers for Tigers game. Yes, I realize there are more important causes but one game, seems fine.

Re: Uniforms***

Jan 10, 2015, 3:07 AM

I don't think it's needed right now. I look at it more like a card we can play if our recruiting ever falls off significantly. We don't need to waste it while we're still recruiting the best guys.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why mess with something if it ain't broke?

Jan 10, 2015, 3:38 AM

Maybe add some Tiger stripe accents somewhere, but never ever subdue the paw emblem and never abandon at least 50% of the color being orange. Now you could have white helmets with an orange paw, or even purple helmets with an orange paw or white paw, but not having orange being the prominent color would be too wierd. It may look cool, but it doesn't look like Clemson.

Just my .02... ??

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Uniforms

Jan 10, 2015, 10:16 AM

I am not against it but just don't see it being something that would get a recruit to come to Clemson. Georgia did those awful new jerseys and it didn't do much either way so I don't really see the point.

We already do purple for military day so don't really see the point other than trying to make money off of fans.

We aren't going to be the most innovative so why not just stick with traditional and have the purple jerseys for flair? We are never going to be Oregon so why try to copy them?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I say stay the course we have. Its classic and unadulterated***
