UNC vs. Wake Friday night NON-conference

game this week. Is ACC the only conference to allow two conference opponents to schedule each other OOC? Very odd.

No Thanks. I had rather have our future OOC games with Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma than another game with an ACC school.

I'd rather have anyone other than Wofford Charlotte or SC

State akron zips etc. Cut the game to 12 minute quarters like we did last time, what good does that do anyone? One scrub is enough a year. In 2021 we play three scrub games.
Outside of requried games against ND and the coots we don't play any occ team with a pulse until uga in 2024

As Saban points out, you have to have someone willing to play you. This hasn’t been a problem when we were looked at as a winnable game. I suspect it’s much harder to find an opponent these days.

We have 4 OCC games per year. Hapless coots and thee more.
One each from P-5 G-5 SoCon
This year we could play an ACC team instead of Charlotte

Playing a G-5, Southern Conf, the coots and one other P-5 each year is not changing. That's been the schedule formula for years and with 4 straight playoff appearances it's working pretty well IMO.

that is the only year and we're booked through 2037

the reason that year is different has to do with when ND got put on our schedule it left a single year in there where we had to have a home game that year with no return game so you'r not going to get any P5 to do that. The only other option would be to do a neutral site game that year(still a possibility if UCONN program drops from FBS) but not really what the coaches would want that year as it is a now a change in QB year so it's not likely they'd want to start without at least a warm-up game prior to a marquee neutral site game.

Should be a wash, obviously, but I'll bet ESECPN comes up

with some way for it to hurt the OOC SOS.

Am confused. Don't you mean divisional? Both are conference teams, but different divisions?

Being instate rivals they scheduled one another as non conference so they could play more frequently than once ever six years. They each have 8 other conference games besides this game. Doesn't count in the standings.

The ACC should just let them play and take out one of their cross division games imo.

NCSU is their permanent cross division rivalry- they can't

have 2 otherwise UNC would never play anyone but NCSU/WF from the Atlantic. I kind of like they give this option as it's better SOS than have UNC and WF go schedule Charlotte, UMASS etc.
I know the allows this in baseball. Ole Miss/Miss St usually play non- conf game in addition to conf games(or at least they did recently)
