Kids are obsessed with brands and status symbols. Jordan is a status symbol (another example is the desperate Jim Harbaugh).
They've lost the lure of fake classes/free degrees. Gotta resort to something.

It would be different if he was not holding a basketball.
Even the small jersey/pants logo isn't terrible.
But the large helmet logo takes it too far.

I'm pretty sure that why it's just on a practice helmet and not on game helmets. Jordan went to UNC. Really nothing to see here. If the kids like it and it helps recruiting, it makes perfect sense. Some teams have to do that stuff. Some don't (us).

They needed a basketball logo to get Tarhole fans attention that it was football season.
The only reason they get excited about football season is that Fall basketball practice is about to start.
