UCF plays Power5 teams every year in the regular season

or schedules them at least. They've had a couple games with ACC opponents canceled in recent years due to weather, but still played or scheduled:
2018- UNC, Pitt
2017- GA Tech, Maryland
2016- Michigan, Maryland
2015- Stanford, SCar
2014- Penn State, Missouri

but I've seen it suggested on the boreds that they don't play Power 5 teams outside of bowl games, which is patently false.

No P5 conference will allow them in. They are a good team. I say they are legitimate 10 to 12.

I say bring them and Memphis to the ACC. Get rid of Wake and and nd since they don’t want to go “All In”. Then we will see how good UCF really is.

And they took an L against every decent team on that list...and no, the Pitt team that just finished 7-7 was not decent just because they managed to win the pathetic Coastal.

Clemson plays 2 P5 OOC games every year on top of the 8 conf games against P5 teams. I realize UCF isn’t in a P5 conference. So to counteract that they should be scheduling 4 P5 games OOC every year, but the minimum should be 3.

something else you have to consider before you dump on their schedule, it's sometimes hard to find teams that will play a home & home with G5 teams.

is not and should not be worthy of CFP inclusion. Unfortunate for them but that is the case against them and until they get into a P5 conference they are an after-thought with regards to a top 4 selection.

2014 - Lost to Penn St, Missouri, and NC State (in bowl game)
2015 - 0 and 12 - lost to them all
2016 - 6-7 lost to Michigan and Maryland
2017 - Beat Md (who finished 4 & 8); Ga Tech cancelled
2018 - Did thump Pitt; UNC cancelled
Need to play more and better teams to get credibility. Should at least play one of the P5 state of FL schools for state credibility.
Why not take up the UF offer for a 2 and 1 series.
