Tree Rollins openly expressed in an interview with Plyler

Jul 28, 2017, 10:20 AM

this morning that on his "bucket list" now is to return as a coach for men's basketball.

Would love some discussion on this. I think that it's a slam dunk. Pun intended.

Would like to interview him and find a spot.

He came back and graduated last year - so that issue is now checked off.

Great for him!

Funny story - I punched my fist through a cheap panel wall in LeMans Apartments at Clemson, when he missed the shot against UNC in the ACC Tournament to win!

I remember that, that was in '75, 2 years before the dunk was legalized. Had the dunk been legal then he would have flushed it & the Bluebellies would have been sent home. It was excruciating.

Then there were 2 walls damaged that evening***

Are we talking about Head Coach? If so, he waited way too long to do one of the main things necessary to be a coach at Clemson or most any other college program ... was so happy to see him finally get his degree, but at over 60 years of age, the ship has probably sailed on getting a job as a head coach. Loved him as a player, but just being realistic. Some sort of position within the athletic department would probably be mutually beneficial though.

His 22 years of coaching experience in the NBA and WNBA might disagree with that.
