Don't like the two QB thing at all unless it's Kelly coming in to run the ball.
If Kelly wins the job and can make all the throws, why sub in a new QB? If Hunter wins the job and can make all the throws he should still get the majority of the reps, but Bryant is still a phenomenal athlete that can make people miss in space and they'll get him touches.

I'd like to see Bryant and Johnson both in the backfield at the same time. With Bryant, hip-stack him, put him at 3-Back or in the slot - then motion him for a read option pitch/give by Johnson, which would allow a second run/pass/flea-flicker option for Bryant..... a quadruple option, if you will, with either of them having a pass option..... it would be wild.
Also, both of them in the backfield would make for a crazy wildcat package, with all sorts of options.

I think they behind our OLine will devastate some defenses. If they stack the box go long to Cain, or other WRs.

If Kelly wins the start, it will be in part because of his ability to run the ball. 1st half of 2015, Watson was the undisputed starter but he did not run much, and I think Elliot was calling few if any run options. We were missing on a lot of 3rd down plays and Watson told the coaches he wanted the ball in his hands on 3rd down. The offense started hitting its stride after that and we rolled. Kelly will be running more than Watson did, and if Cooper or Johnson win the start so will they, there is not an undisputed starter they might fight and practice for the start every week. The QB run option will be a stronger part of our offense than last year. We sub out every position if we have the talent and a player ready to go, this year we will sub out the QB. This is a good thing. In the 4th quarter we will still have fresh horses to seal the game. If Kelly or Johnson or Cooper run for 77 yards to score on one series, you would put the next guy in 4 plays later just like you would for a RB or a WR that just outran everone on the field to the end zone. We will likely run 90+ plays in some games, shoot for 80+ in every game.... even Alabama could not hang with that. We have the horses, run flat out and tap the next guy when you need a breather.

Multiple quarterbacks is a good idea in theory, but it almost never works unless there is a clear starter and a change of pace guy that gets 5-10 snaps.
If it's 50-50 or alternating series' (Ha Spurrier) the offense will never get into a rhythm and the guys won't know who to look to when the game is on the line. "Is this Kelly or Hunter or Zerrick that's going to take us down the field for the win?"

I'm really beginning to like our offensive situation.

This will not be a repeat of 2014 like many of the haters wish. We have playmakers galore. I can't wait to see this team take shape.

I don't think it will be a 2014 repeat either but I certainly wouldn't call anyone "haters" because they raise questions about it. True, all the facts about 2014 came out later but were unknown at the time. it's debatable what would have happened in 2014 had DW4 been "the guy" from the get but we just don't know.
These so-called "haters" want to see Clemson successful as much as anyone else - just some peeps personality is different.

I wasn't talking about concerned Clemson fans.

Trust me I hear you because I'm with you. I have questions and concerns too but I like what I'm hearing. I'm talking about outsiders. Some are in the media. Some are fans of other teams who just don't like Clemson. Some of them even troll this board frequently. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Ok, am I the only one that read this feeling as if Cooper is the odd man out? Because imo, if he dosn't win the starting job this season, he won't at all. I didn't see much mentioned here, although it could be just how the questions steered the conversation. Still, With Hunter Johnson, Chase Brice, and an incoming phenom it would appear, Playing time after this year looks really difficult.

I think some of these really talented QBs may end up transferring.
It was a big deal when we got HJ; the only reason we don't hear as much about him now is because of the next, newest shiny thing, TL. HJ is no worse now than he was when he committed. So lets say he is as good as advertised and starts early next year. Furthermore, if he is as good as advertised, it would be hard for a true freshman to unseat him in 2018. So does TL stay happy if HJ starts three years and goes pro? Would TL sit for two years? We had several years circa 80's and 90's where our QBs were on a two year cycle - always a Jr or Sr starting - but that was a different time with different players. Is it possible these days?
This isn't a bad problem to have, boys and girls. We have been recruiting remarkably well at QB and it seems as if the injury bug has stayed away for the most part. Heck, our most recent casualty had a pre-existing condition - that big, empty boil on Chad Kelley's shoulders.

I'm going to say it's HJ's job to loose by game #2 . . .

If everything goes to plan, IMO, it will be HJ playing against Auburn. I understand there is a lot for him to learn and show a certain level, but between the lines, the coaches are saying this . .my take.
