Top 5 Coaches Who Have Frustrated Dabo The Most

This week my special guest, Mark Childress, and I give you our top 5 coaches who have frustrated Dabo the most since he became the Head Coach of the Clemson Football program.
This includes coaches who have been difficult to beat, who seem to find weak spots consistently, and even a few who have been annoying off the field.
Here are my 5...
5) Nick Saban
4) Jimbo Fisher
3) Paul Johnson
2) Steve Spurrier (I'll never give a Gamecock #1 in any of my lists!)
1) Jeremy Pruitt

I went back a forth on Dino. I'm not sure if he is as frustrating without injuries to Kelly and Trevor back to back years.

Syracuse has played us closer with our most talented teams.
What about Kevin Steele? Dabo had to be pretty frustrated with his work ??

#1 him. He's all Gator and, of course, Steve Spurrier. Dabo bookended Spurrier's stint there with W's, so first and last, with Spurrier not sticking around for another. But in between it was as pure nemesis and frustration as you can get.
Jimbo, Paul, Nick and Dino about round it out. Johnson gets the nod only due to frequency and the longer rivalry with Tech.

A good list but I don't think Dabo was frustrated with Spurrier. I think he saw Clemson constantly gaining. I think Dabo was Spurriers' biggest frustration, even as he was winning he was loosing ground to him.

Hmm...interesting thought...Dabo was more frustrating to Spurrier. I can kinda see that. He did quit when he knew it was over.

Spurrier definitely belongs on the list. In 2010 and 2011 USCe was clearly the better team (no matter who was coach). The gap was close in 2012 but USCe still had a slight edge and out coached CU. I think the teams were about even in 2013 but we got out coached. The balance of power shifted in 2014 and and that gap continues. Spurrier could not have stopped the recent CU win streak. The Titanic had already hit the iceberg.

Yeah, but Shaw didn't have anything to do with their win at Death Valley when we made Thompson look like a Heisman dual threat QB ..... probably the worst defensive game plan since Dabo has been our coach. On the other hand, maybe it was just great work by Spurrier by calling plays that we had no idea they would run. It kind of reminded me of TCU QB running the read option against us when they beat us in the valley.

Funny that Matt Canada was OC at NC State from 2013-15

and lost all 3 games, but the one year as OC at Pittsburgh in
2016 was frustrating for the Clemson defense and the final score.
Still hard to believe Watson was 52-70 for 580 yards and lost for
only the 3rd and final time in his great Clemson career. Turnovers
will kill you; that and not being able to get a yard on two tries.

Yea. Deshaun is my favorite player but he had issues turning the ball over that year.

Ironically this is also basically a list of coaches that might go into early retirement thanks to Dabo.
Saban may quit if we beat him next year.
He already ran Fisher half way across the country.
PJ - RETIRED
Spurrier - RETIRED
Pruit - Ran him to Tenn and stole his best recruits.

Gotta give credit where credit is due my man, Spurrier was a thorn in our backside. It helped make us who we are today though.
