This is a fascinating video about HOF coach Bill Snyder's effort to rebuild the Kansas State football program. Coach Venables was part of the original group recruited by Coach Snyder, what became know as "The Foundation."
Coach Venables is called out by name and photo during the end credits, along with the other 68 players that were part of The Foundation at Kansas State.
Really interesting documentary - highly recommend!

That's all good but our failure to get pressure on the QB was a glaring weakness exposed. We better find a way or there will be dark days ahead. It may be that we've come to expect too much and we just don't have the talent to get it done. One thing is for sure: inside LB blitzes are not effective. We have to increase the risk factor and bring corners or safeties. One more thing- we need better Oline technique. Run blocking is totally different from pass protection. We were not physical on either side of the ball-very disappointing.

considering the youth of those starting vs ND the personnel unavailable, the lack of depth due to both of those factors and the experience of ND
we still held their offense to 23 points - just did not stop them in the end (you could tell they were out of gas)
You can't spot a team 10 points - I excuse it because it was other freshman with 10 days of first experience with a mix of other personnel.
Our D played great and for the second time in recent memory, we did not hold a team when we had a 7 point lead on their last possession (2016 Bama is the other). It stilks, but we saw the 2022 National Champs playing as true freshman without relief against a Senior laden top 4 2020 team.

You do realize we are averaging around 4 sacks and 9 tackles for loss per game.
Last week we played what is probably the best offensive line in college football. Not to mention the entire game commentators were constantly talking about how well the RB group for ND was doing with blitz pick up.
Also, we are doing this all while missing our best DT in Tyler Davis, our probably best LB in Skalski, didn't have our starting SAM LB in Mike Jones, and didn't have XT the whole 1st half. On top of that no one is talking about missing Justin Foster who had 4.5 sacks and 11.5 TFL last season.
We need to get healthy more than anything.

FutureDoc and TigerJ47 replies are well written and spot on points of analysis. I also think there is a huge silver lining...we are getting some of the young pups some valuable game day experience. The early/often snaps they've been getting against BC and ND are way more valuable than the 4th quarter mop up snaps in games prior to our numerous defensive injuries. Best is yet to come, Go Tigers!

Honestly, the injuries have weakened our defense. It does take time to develop the back up players. This year, the developmental process for all teams has been forced because of Covid, injuries, opt outs. Thus, a lot of sloppy games in all phases. Even the officiating has been hard to watch, with all of the reviews and indecision. 2020 is sucky and a huge asterisk should be applied to the entire NCAA season. With all this said, our coaches have still done a great job. We are #4 and still have a great chance to make it into the playoff.

are only as good as the talent and depth they have. Venables has worked his magic many times, but in each of those instances he had a lot of talent to work with. Perhaps they were young, or playing new positions, but the talent was still there.
This year, we are not only young, but we have had a lot of key injuries. At some point, after enough injuries, Venables isn’t going to be as successful as he would like. We have seen that these last two games.
