Today was the first day schools could send official offers out like this. That may be right (had an offer, just not committable)..but everything I've read is he hasn't had an offer (who knows). If you look at his July 28 tweet, I think it gives a clue something big happened that day

official offers today. So that doesn't mean anything has changed regarding Ngata. But, I'm not saying something hasn't changed. I just wouldn't read into the tweet as all of our recruits have been tweeting this today.

He was offered as a RB on 3/12 and it was commitable, but we got our 2 takes before he was ready. If this offer is really new, then it must be as a receiver or athlete.

Like you, I don't have a clue,but just don't see the staff sending out OFFICIAL "wait & see " offers. Doesn't seem like Dabo's style.

We’re all speculating and trying to read smoke signals of a 17 year old’s Tweets so nobody knows what’s going on other than the Ngatas and Clemson staff.

I tend to agree. I don't see Dabo letting his team send Offical offers to players who do not have spots. Other schools might but we are very careful with our offers and respectful of the players who receive them.
