Think I have covid.

Aug 21, 2020, 11:38 AM

Started w sore throat and cough yesterday, now some chest congestion, nasal congestion, slept like crap. Cold chills and then sweats. Headache. Haven’t drank in 2 days bc of it, that’s how serious this is.

Do I go get tested? What’s the point? I’m home anyway. Just rest and hope it doesn’t get worse?

Shouldn't you have a doctor recommend you get tested

Aug 21, 2020, 11:43 AM

and then get tested so your insurance will cover costs associated with your recovery? You don't know the long term effects. Better to have a positive test result on record?

I agree with this...

and for contact tracing. And yes, contact tracing is not perfect.

So I am going to try play the other side.

Why get tested and why tell anyone? Why not just stay home and get better and roll? If it gets worse, go to doc. I don’t get all of this hoopla if just being honest.

If he hasn't been in close contact, I'd tend to agree; If

he has, he can/will probably get in touch with his close contacts faster than DHEC. So I'd say do that.

Because it’s the right thing to do. One of those folks could have or live with someone that has underlying issues.

I had contact with your sister last night.

Aug 21, 2020, 1:44 PM

So I should prob get tested...

For real though I think I will get tested. Still feel like crap.

I started with a mild cough two weeks ago today. Woke up on Saturday morning, felt decent, and went for a run. By the end of the day Saturday, I was so fatigued and weak that I knew something was wrong. Got tested last Monday, positive result the following day.

I went through the fever and body aches for about 6 days, but never got a sore throat or anything more than a cough. Fever broke on Monday, and I returned to work (for a few hours) today. I think all things considered, I got off pretty easy, but it still wasn't fun. I only have an occasional cough and still get kind of tired in the afternoons.

to get results. Kind of pointless for the folks that were hoping to get back to work.

I'd get a real one. He should 'pass' a telehealth visit real easy.

Use a full ounce of weed instead of the typical 1/2oz when

making your brownies. You want that body high to really hit hard to mask your symptoms. If you've got access to shrooms I would recommend eating a half 1/8th of a stem, not the cap, to mitigate any further discomfort.

Is that a real question? Then self isolate for a couple of weeks. You have had some dumb posts, but that was good. He may just have a cold and it's not that big of a deal.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If he has a cold, he oughtta be staying home too.

Aug 21, 2020, 2:25 PM

Others can catch that, too.

Re: If he has a cold, he oughtta be staying home too.

Aug 21, 2020, 2:33 PM

Cool. I don't equate the common cold with the dangers of Covid. To each their own. I would just live my life to an extent with the cold like I always have. With Covid I would be worrying about killing a person with a vulnerable immune system as well as the elderly, like my Mom. Because of that I would isolate.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You don't have COVID.

Aug 21, 2020, 1:16 PM

You just can't think of anything good to do.
