Does it even matter?

Currently in sports, we have

A first tier football program
A first tier baseball program
A first tier mens soccer program
A first tier womens soccer program
A first tier womens Track and Field program
A second tier mens Track and Field program
A second tier mens golf program
A second tier womens golf program
A third tier mens tennis program
A third tier womens tennis program
A fourth tier mens basketball program
A fifth tier womens basketball program

I don't really know what else is there. Of the sports which anyone somewhat pays attention too, we are doing extremely well. Everyone has a dog program and ours is Basketball. It just is.

In 5 of the the prominent sports we are competing or on the verge of competing for National Championships. 3 programs are highly competitive and could break through for competing at a national championship level within 2-3 years. I'm willing to give Drad a break here.

basketball. We are great at one of thoses. We stink at the other.

We just put $63 million into Littlejohn after spending another $30 million in early 2000s. That's nearly $100 million and what have we to show for it? Not much.

It matters to me and I am sure many other Clemson fans.

I'm sorry but having great soccer programs does not give DRad a pass on basketball.

(Btw, is this Mrs. D-Rad? ;))

Ha. However, the refurbish, while primarily used for basketball, also enables us to host more and better concerts, events and other fee based rental things. It is not something used 6 times a year, so there are other revenue streams going on.

I just am tired caring anymore about basketball. I remember the glory days of Rick Barnes and am just over it. We can't or won't get there. Bring on softball....

when they have won their last 3 tournaments. They are top tier for sure.

well admittingly, it wasn't top of head. I just didn't think we were capable of competing for a national championship level, as opposed to the other 5 sports. But maybe we have climbed back....
