The worst things about the coot lucky win

Sep 14, 2014, 7:22 AM

Is that they keep bringing up our loss to Georgia as part of the story.

"No. 6 Georgia, which blasted Clemson 45-21 in its opener two weeks ago, lost to South Carolina (and coach Steve Spurrier again) 38-35 on the road. " - ESPN

Coots wouldn't have won if the game was in Athens!

Agreed, Georgia can't play for crap when they cross the state line into South Carolina. It's like a switch gets flipped and they forget how to play football.

You do remember all the pub we received last year

Sep 14, 2014, 7:39 AM

after our win over georgia, right? I also remember pounding Auburn in 2011 and watching the coots lose to them 3 weeks later after scoring only 10-13 points to our 38 points we put on them. It's all good. Let's win out and none of this will matter.

Has Dabo won an SEC game on the opponents home field?***

You don't think there would be a 3 point swing in Athens? Interesting

Just a flipped scenario from last year

Sep 14, 2014, 7:36 AM

UGA beats Clemson at home but loses on the road last year.

UGA beats Lamecocks at home last year but loses on the road this year.

Home field advantage is huge! It's worth a lot more than 3 points IMO.

Agree, but 25+ point difference is more than home field adv.

Not if your in-state rival stole your main source of non-tuition revenue aka the Morrill Land Grant. Insert smiley face.

Yep....that's why we WILL beat them this year!

There's something in these hills.

GA lost this game on 1st and goal at the 4 yard line.......

Sep 14, 2014, 10:53 AM

Run Gurly up the middel and Georgia wins!!!

Re: GA lost this game on 1st and goal at the 4 yard line.......

Sep 14, 2014, 11:42 AM

The line was stacked which is why the d-lineman came through unblocked. I agree that they should have handed it to Gurley but that was no guarantee of a touchdown or a win, especially with as much time on the clock as there was. It was a great game and we came out on top and put ourselves in the drivers seat for the east.

Re: GA lost this game on 1st and goal at the 4 yard line.......

I still wonder about the intentional grounding call. There was an eligible receiver on the other side of the rusher that was hit in the thigh with the ball.

Of course UGA got there by an awful call on your number 4 cutting a blocker. The ball had changed hands and he was on defense.

Refs were making up rules for a few minutes there.

Sep 14, 2014, 12:33 PM

I think they were trying to help Uga late in the game, Uga was too stupid to take advantage.

Subjective. I'm not sold that SC wouldn't have just scored again. By the 4th, it seemed the UGA defense was gutted. I still say that SC has no defense, and I'll stand by that all year. Why are we so worried about what they do anyway?

Why do you call it a lucky win? With the exception of a short period in the first quarter we led the entire game.

Re: The worst things about the coot lucky win

Sep 14, 2014, 12:24 PM

Well to be fair, we've taunted them the past few years when they've lost to teams that we beat....i.e. Auburn in 2011 and UGA in 2013.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is the reverse of last year

Sep 14, 2014, 12:25 PM

So proves nothing as they went on to beat us. Just as we could go on to beat them this year.
