unemployment stimulus crap? I really can't make sense of the stuff on the website, and no way you can get through on the phone. I've been out of work over a year and obviously used up the unemployment benefits a long time ago. Can I reapply now, since they're handing out money left and right?

because nobody wants to hire someone 63 years old. I just had 4 interviews with a company. The guy I'd be working for in the 3rd interview even asked me - can you start immediately, because the next orientation session starts May 20. Sure, no problem. Slam dunk, I'd killed every interview. Then they did the background check and figured out how old I was, which I try to hide of course. The 4th interview with a Director, who's in her 20's, suddenly went south. I think you're probably "over qualified for this position and might get bored". Same thing I've heard from a bunch of companies.
Too old to hire, too young to retire. Same old chit. A lot of people my age are caught in this trap.

I'm way past the morality of it all, I've decided we're going to take every dime of stimulus available, and probably put my wife's federal student loans on an income based plan. Since her income is currently $0....Well, #### em, we'll pay like $10 a month for 20 something years. If I'm going to helll, it's for other things anyway, why not game the system?
