Why the play calling has been vanilla? Nothing verticle..No RPO through the air...just simple basic routes and screens.

The play calling is not maximizing the potential of TL and the WRs.

Because there were two high safeties and over the top would be picked. The one to Tee we fooled the safety but he was there. Can’t just throw deep every play.

I understand that...That’s obvious...

But UNC LBs were literally blitzing and in the backfield ever other play...We didn’t attack it once.

We need a 3rd down TE passing option. 2 high safety look would be money for the TE over the middle or flexed out Leggett.

We have also got away from the crossing routes

Their defense dictated our play calling. Two deep safeties combined with (very often) jamming the line. They are conceding the mid range. This should be no problem and result in lengthy, sustained drives. Problem was the O-line was subpar.

There were two very negative plays that shouldn't have happened: (1) AJ Terrell's lack of respect for the receiver on the long TD pass and ETN's fumble. Those are why it was a close game.
