The main key to stopping LSU's offense

Jan 12, 2020, 2:58 PM

will come down to Venables dissection in dealing with Burrow. If you watch film of his actions you will readily see that he has been focusing on his first read receiver most often. Venables will devise a defense which will force Burrow to go to his 2nd, 3rd, and even at times 4th reads which will pressure him without the time to discern these additional reads and cause him to be sacked or even throw interceptions. Look for Clemson to disrupt their offense through tactical pressure which is varied on each play and in great pass coverage of their receivers like they have never before seen this year!

Time consuming drives by the offense will also be a great deterrent.

I expect LSU to move the ball pretty easily on the Clemson D especially in the first half.

Too many “Waldos” around the hashes and the secondary. Expecting a big game from CEH/Moss/Chase.

Wrong!

One thing Burruw does best is look off defeners with his eyes. I hope and pray Simmons spies Burrow all game because he will be completely neutralized. I'm sure Venables will figure that out pretty quickly however.

Can’t afford to have Simmons spy Burrow with Jefferson in slot and Moss at TE.

He is just like Tua looks the other way but knows where he is throwing before the snap. He will be exposed.

First our defense has to make plays on first down. 2nd our offense can't start slow wasted downs 3 and outs will get uhh blown out
LSU hasn't played from behind a lot this year. Please make Burrow uncomfortable .

There are several huge keys. I'll say the most important one is the outside cover guys (AJ and DK) must get it done in single coverage. Otherwise, they will score 35+ easily.
