Why it's called a DOMINATION...

Nov 22, 2012, 10:50 AM

The reason that it is generally perceived that Clemson dominates the rivalry is because we actually do. Besides the statistical outlier of the current 3 game win streak by USuC, the gamecoots haven't had a streak longer than ONE game since 1970. On the other hand, multi-game streaks are the norm for Clemson. Over the entire series, we've won 3 games to their 2. More recently though, that ratio has been much higher for Clemson. Since 1997, Clemson is 10-5 in the series. Since 1988, Clemson is 16-8. Since 1976, Clemson is 24-11-1. If you look back over 15 years, 25 years, or 35 years, Clemson wins twice as often as Sakerlina.

Is besides. You cant change the past so no need to focus on it. Yall will own overall record for a long time but if USC wont 7 or 8 out of 10, no one would bother worrying about overall record or silly statistics.

they wouldn't be silly. However, they will never be yours, so they are still silly.

So if we win what will you say? Lord knows you can't admit the better team has ever won, and if you mention the 3 peat we will shoot it down because "you can't live in the past."

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Excellent analysis... point. Tells you what BS stats are...

The flipside of the cooties argument was the FSU/UF comparison. Truth is, over the most recent years of that rivalry, it is FSU 19, FL 17, which is why it's perceived as a rivalry as opposed to a domination.

Lies, D Lies, then Statistics. Typical coots working hard to rationalize and create their own delusional reality.

is the only thing that makes beating y'all notable. There's no national prestige or anything like that associated with beating Clemson or any other ACC team.

I guess we all seem to have forgotten that sakerlina has been a powerhouse football program for more than the past three years. Sort of like 0-21 or 63-17 never happened....oh wait that all DID happen. Dewsh.

How old are you? The only thing that has brought attention to SCAR is hiring back to back retired Hall of Fame coaches. Nobody cared before Holtz, nobody will care after SOS, which is coming soon.

You guys are not as good this year as last, and with your losses on defense, you will be much worse next year.

Offensively you currently rank 93rd out of 120 teams in total offense. It will not be any better next year, and a lesser defense will bring you guys back to 7-5 or 8-4, or worse, and bring SOS to retirement. All he is hanging around for is to break Enwrights all time win record (he had an overall losing record at SCAR). SOS is gone after he breaks the record next year, he pretty plainly stated that to be his goal three years ago.

After he is gone, SCAR slips back into oblivion, unless you can convince Ditka, Jimmy Jonson to come out of retirement.

Is the Clemson fan base the only one that that thinks winning the ACC and finishing 23rd in the final poll is more impressive than finishing 8th in the final poll even when you had to play in a conference that had 4 teams even better than you. Surely no other fan base is so mis-informed.

If beating us is irrelevant and doesn't matter at all to you or your fanbase then why are you on Tigernet?

Clearly you care what the opposition says. And this game does matter. If we were to win 15 in a row and brag how much we owned this state you would get sick of it and want to win the next one just like we are sick of listening to "3 in a row! SEC!" every 5 minutes so WE want to win.

A fan who says this game doesn't matter either isn't a true fan or just lives far enough away from South Carolina that the game truly doesn't matter to them because they don't have to listen to the opposition's trash talk all year long.
