At first I thought it was a rat but after a good look I don’t know what it is .
Could be a mole?

It's a mole. Shrews have tiny feet, moles have wide front feet in which to dig with.

Mole. My dog got one last year. They come above ground at some phase in their life.
A new, hairy, oddly shaped mole that shows up quickly should be looked at be a doctor. Prayers sent.
