RE: The Tiger Ten - Defense

"Clemson rushing defense is ranked 9th in the ACC (102nd nationally)... Clemson’s rush defense is essentially average..."

I may not be a math wiz, but 102 out of 120 teams is not average.

Math is hard.

75% of people are good at math.

Are you part of the other 18%?

Defense is not solely based on how many yards you give up a game compared to all the other teams. That is all that ranking reflects. So what if your defense gives up 100 less rushing yards per game than Clemson's does, if you lose all of your games. Look at where on the field they are giving up those yards, thus the bend don't break comment.

The article photo

I like the photo they used in this article. It is gratifying and somewhat karmic to see a Yellow Jacket named Johnson on the OTHER end of a spectacular touchdown catch.

I was thinking the same thing.

I remember Johnson's freshman game against us. I've never seen someone take over a game like that as a freshman until Sammy's performance in the Maryland game last year. I remember telling fans in the parking lots who were celebrating because they had left the game early, that we lost. They didn't believe me.

That is one of my least favorite Clemson game memories. We had obnoxious GT fans (like there is any other kind) sitting in front of us.

did anyone notice Johnson's left hand pushing up on Nuk's facemask? I wouldn't say pass interference worthy, or even intentional, but cool that Nuk held on to the ball.

i agree with the "bend not break" mindset. I think that is a great way to think of it the way that clemsons defense has performed in the redzone this year

#8 can be misleading......

IMHO...if we're leading in the 4th Qtr, teams will most likely be trying to pass the ball rather than run the ball in order to score quicker trying to play catch-up on the scoreboard.
