The SEC bias

Apr 24, 2020, 12:49 AM

Somehow convinced 15 NFL GMs to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in players that aren't really any better than the rest of the country.

I don't know why they spend so much time listening to PF. It's not as though six different SEC schools really turn out first round-quality, professional-grade players.

Those GMs would be much smarter and more successful if they thought for themselves.

Like I do.

It’s mainly LSU and Bama players. But they use those numbers to promote the whole conference. Its kind of retarded but sheeple fall for it

Excellent point...overall the SEC has been and continues to be really top-heavy.

There's nothing remotely special about the middle to bottom half of the conference as it compares to the ACC, Big Ten, or Big XII. You can make an argument that the SEC has as good or better talent than any other league, but the same can not be said for coaching.

It's a pointless argument anyways. Finebaum beats the SEC superiority drum every season because that's how he makes his living, even when the on field results are contrary to his opinion.

Nine first-rounders from LSU/Bama.

Six more from four more SEC schools. That's more than from any other conference--both in number of players and number of schools represented--EVEN IF YOU DON'T INCLUDE LSU/BAMA.

And none of those SEC players are considered to be "reach" picks. They are all legitimate first rounders.

Proof is Clemson makes the National Championship every year, yet only the players are unfairly criticized next to other superstars. Isaiah Simmons was incredible but some analysts said he was a “too” versatile. That is the nonsense that these schmucks pull to sell their beloved conference.

It ain’t no lie, buddy. They fix it by putting SEC grads on TV so they can say, “Well, what did you expect us to say?”

It’s all a clown show, and the sellers of this world have sold our own souls to us.

I apologize to anyone who gave me a TU because you missed the sarcasm.

I hold my nose anytime I deal with an SEC fan because they are almost universally obnoxious. Even the ones who try to be nice--usually Auburn fans, by my experience--are condescending in doing so.

But make no mistake: the SEC is an incredible football factory. The bias, and the network that feeds it, are byproducts of the factories that turn out more football talent than we have ever seen. Yesterday their first round contributions to the NFL were almost equal to the entire rest of college football.

Yet our coach has a career winning percentage of over .700 against them. Over the last five years, he's over.800 (I think). That does not make the SEC chopped liver.

It makes Dabo Swinney fr%/#ing awesome.
