The Oklahoma State love is still a bit perplexing

Aug 9, 2017, 10:08 AM

#14 seems more realistic than #4. Theyre probably going to go like 10-2 in a really weak conference. That's nowhere close to top 4 potential.

Same ol, same ol. Tigers criticized for some weakness, but rarely applied to the other higher ranked teams. We go 4-0 in Sep, we'll in top 4, maybe top 3. Focus on winning, not rank.

Not high enough. I would like the champ to be #1 until they get knocked off, but since media needs to sell magazines and clicks, we get hype rankings. Last time we played OSU with roughly same defense, and they had same QB, they scored ZERO. How are they ranked above us everywhere? And Oklahoma State, really? They'll find a way to blow it

If the rankings actually mattered for something it would

Aug 9, 2017, 11:12 AM

make sense to leave the champ at #1. As it stands now, i have no problem with people ranking the teams wherever they see fit.

IMO, rankings should not even officially begin until the committee goes to work after the first 8 weeks. What are the rankings based on right now? Reputation? Last year? Recruiting? Not one snap has been played and Alabama is already number 1. It gives the top 10 teams a head start over everyone else. Imagine giving the Dodgers, or Penguins or Warriors a 20 game lead over everyone else before the season begins. Clemson wasn't even ranked when they won it all in 1981 but they had to work like crazy to climb a very tall mountain. The rankings should be based on what happens this year, not what the so-called "experts" say. That's my raving on rankings. Any thoughts?

Defending Champs disrespected - OkST #4 OK #6

Aug 9, 2017, 10:17 AM

And for that matter USC (the real one) #5.
Guess CU was ONLY team to lose players from last years squad.
None of the others did.
