Why do we keep reading about the lack of intensity from the defense?

Mar 30, 2018, 8:55 AM

Isn't this supposed to be the strong point this year ?

Are the players buying into the hype too early? I don't get it.

I thought we would be reading about the defense blowing people off the ball in practices, but instead we are reading about the offense.

Or is this a ploy to throw off opposing coaches...hmmm

??

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

Because no one will ever be intense enough for BV.

Its called "Coaching Talk"....

Just a way of BV challenging his players through the media respectfully. I'm sure the intensity is fine...No coach will ever come out a brag about having the best defense in the country during the spring...For all we know, BV goes home and touches himself to the unspeakable talent that we have on this defense this year...I know I do lol

That's some pretty strong "coaching talk" to make your defense run for 20 min after the scrimmage. That's a pretty real challenge from the player's perspective I'll bet.

Dabo and BV like to play good cop, bad cop some times. Also I have two words for if there really was a noticeable lack of intensity.....

Venables demands perfection and the only ones I know who meet that requirement are the posters on this board.

I agree that BV is exaggerating how bad the defense looks, specifically the secondary. The one thing that does make me think that the defense is struggling is their 4 star LB recruit, Bentley was in town for a visit, and commented that the defense had a bad day.

Also the coaches control scrimmages by play calling. What’s the talk about right now from everyone... when Trevor or Hunter is going to take over. Then, after a scrimmage our vaunted D gives up 4 TD passes to Kelly B. The plays and media reports are scripted.

There is no way CBV is going to hype the best defense in ACC history in March. He knows the
nature of young men way too well for that.
