Why no reseeding?

With the single elimination final 4 separate from pool play, wouldn't it make more sense to reseed after pool play? It would put a greater emphasis on the regular season as the highest seeded team to advance would be rewarded with the lowest seeded team in the semis.

For this year, it would have rewarded us with Pittsburgh in the semis instead of NC State or FSU.

That makes too much sense though, which is why the acc would never do that.

This situation would need to come up for UNC for the ACC to consider a change. UNC is out so the ACC doesn’t care.

Everybody earned their spot in the pool they are in. Imagine being Pitt who just beat the 1 seed. Congrats Pitt, now instead of playing Louisville (5) we are going to reseed and have you play Clemson(2).
It wouldn’t seem fair. The top 4 seeds already have major advantages in this format. That would just be another one and IMO that’s too many advantages

So Pitt, who "earned" their 12 seed, deserves an easier semifinal matchup than Clemson, who earned their 2 seed?

We play 30 conference games to determine seeding. Seems the higher seeded teams should be awarded every advantage possible.

Higher seeds are awarded the advantages in the pools. Once teams earn their way out of the pools it's everyone for themselves. If you put too much emphasis on the regular season affecting seeding every round, then why even have the tournament. Just take the top-4 and do a playoff.

The College World Series does not reseed after the tournament field is selected.

The only thing that occurs if is two lower seeds advance to Super Regionals, the higher ranked team hosts.
