The Legend of Wells Hoag was born last night...

Nov 22, 2019, 9:58 AM

Could we have found are Hunter Renfrow of Tiger Basketball? Former Greenville High All-State is deceptivelly quick and has great range on his shot. He won MVP honors with good players in the North-South SC All-star game after his senior season...

He is going to need to start running full court a little more it seems.

He came in hot last night early, but you could tell he got exhausted and was breathing heavily soon after being in the game.

A lot of that probably came from the adrinilan rush of the excitement, but once he does that he could be pretty good...

He's best friends with my son since middle school. Trust me he can play. He was just winded because he was living his dream and was just excited. Great kid and is a great shooter. So proud of him.

I wasn't suggesting that he couldn't get his stamina up to be able to play at that level.

Most likely as a manager he doesn't get to run the floor during practice to get himself in playing shape.

If he continues to dress it will be really interesting to see how he can contribute with his legs under him for longer stretches of the game.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves

With Hunter back Sunday and Trapp in January, he's not seeing many minutes. Let's not forget we were playing arguably the worst D1 team in basketball last night.

We had a 23 point run at one point. That is roughly what we won by. So other than that run we played them even. Now we did start subbing and playing everyone who could later but it makes you wonder some about quality of opponent versus us.

Lol! When the football team is up 28 to 0, you dont say we weren't that good when the rest of the game was scored 14-14?
That's how most teams win is a big run. When the deficit is that huge, the team winning doesn't even play hard especially defensivelly.

87-51

a 36-point margin..

so other than the 23-point run, Tigers outscored them by 13

granted, it was almost even in the second half... when everyone got off the bench and A&M hit six 3's

He has the one skillset that all but one Tiger lacks

Nov 22, 2019, 6:27 PM

Other than Hunter Tyson, it would be hard to bet big dollars on any Tiger in a game of H-O-R-S-E. He is the kind of guy who could get a couple of minutes before timeouts, halftime or the end of the game to hit a long range bomb.

Students should start a fan club called ‘The Hoagies’...

Here was a nice article on Hoag during his senior year. Sounds like that growth spurt really was the start of getting this kid some division 1 interest. Nice ro have a walk-on who can get some minutes and maybe do some good things with shooting and ball handling.
