This was really the first year the Braves have had young talent. With the exception of Freeman and Simmons last year, their starting 8 (non-pitchers) were made up of has beens and never weres. This year they have brought up Mallex Smith and acquired Ender Inciarte. Dansby Swanson and some others are on the way. The next manager is going to reap the benefits of the youth movement, and probably get more credit than he deserves much like Gonzalez has gotten more blame than he deserves.
The best of chefs can't make Filet Mignon from the hide of a mule.

I agree but he is not the cause of their problems. The money hungry owners unloaded all of their good players.

They have been taking the 76er approach to this. Tank trade and try and have a good young team in 17 when they open the new place. Not sure its the right approach. As a sixer fan the last 5 years suck. Also a fins fan in football. So much love for my Tigers to get me thru.

Actually the GM said tonight that he was not part of their plan for 2017. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chipper take it starting spring
