College and NFL do it, and it's hideous for the most part. I'm a Redskins fan and Burgundy & Gold & Pink is terrible.
Also, what about all other cancers? Why just the focus on breast cancer? Can't we just acknowledge all cancers with a "Cancer Awareness Month" and not designate a particular color to it?

We hadn't done so well wearing that pink either, until last year, which we really didn't play that well.
The first time we wore it was the 2013 fsu game. Enough said about that. The second time was 2014 Louisville. The game where dw4 got hurt and we needed a last second fourth down stand to beat a very mediocre Louisville team. Last year we played bc when we wore pink. We won comfortably, but still gave up 17 points to an offense worse than USuCks is this year.
Based on those games, I'm not a fan of Clemson wearing pink. I want all the good mojo we can get for this NC state game.

hey man, symbolism over substance. dont get me started. my son coaches 7th grade football and his team wears long pink socks in october. we are black and gray so it isnt hideous but ###.

Probably because the wife of our head coach is a breast cancer survivor. It is close to the heart of their family. And I have absolutely NO problem with it!! Go Tigers!

she is not a breast cancer survivor. she chose to get the procedure done as a precaution because of family history. probably pretty smart.

In all honesty the only benefactor of this "awareness" is Nike or whoever else makes these pink accessories. Wonder who really started this trend of pink sports accessories? If every sports team that participated in this wearing if the pink trend would instead donate the money they spend on these accessories to cancer research it would literally be millions of dollars donated every year. I think that would be more affective than say wearing pink wrist bands or socks etc in a football game.
