This is stupid. Its a clear infringement on the 2nd Amendment and the beginning of a slippery slope.
Next, they will try to make it illegal to have lightweight triggers.
This also opens up the door to banning accessories. They'll use the argument that "the 2nd Amendment protects your right to own a gun, but not stocks, scopes, or magazines, or individual gun parts."
Absolutely stupid. This needs to be challenged and overturned.

2nd reason why the opposition to bumpstocks is stupid: well trained shooters can shoot fast.
This is a video I made last weekend at my farm/hunting property near Tigerville.
Yes I blurred my face, for a number of reasons.
This is SEMI AUTOMATIC. One bullet per trigger pull.
In this clip, I am not bump firing. This gun is also NOT "fully automatic". I dont own any bump stocks or fully automatic guns. This is literally just me squeezing the trigger as fast as I can.
Granted, the trigger I have in this gun costs about $300. Its a precision competition trigger made by a company called Geissele and this particular trigger is designed for close quarters engagements and close quarters competition shooting where speed is crucial. The trigger is designed to shoot faster than a stock mil spec AR-15 trigger, however this trigger I'm using is still semi-automatic so firing speed is limited to how fast your fingers can squeeze the trigger. After years of playing trumpet and other instruments, as well as competition shooting, I can work a trigger pretty dang fast. Faster than the average person. However, with a few magazines to practice with, the average or novice shooter could get pretty close to this rate of fire.
What are they gunna do, ban my index finger and force me to chop it off?

No, probably not. I can just articulate my fingers a little faster because I engage in competition shooting and play instruments that require a little extra dexterity in your hands. Proper trigger discipline will yield similar results if you practice.
