I saw her current vet, and may see another in a few days for a second opinion.

Short term plan is to have her on Tramadol and Rimadyl (daily) to alleviate the arthritic pain. I ordered joint supplements (Longevity) and some highly rated hip tablets.

I appreciate all the feedback, guidance, thoughts, and prayers. As one poster mentioned our pets become family members, and making the best decision for quality of life becomes our responsibility at some point.

Here are a few pics of my baby girl....Ms. Show-me Labs Coconut.

Go Tigers!

That's fine dog.
We use the tramadol for our old shepherd. Gives him a lot of relief. You can tell it works when they stop panting.

My 14 yo Lab would romp like a puppy when we gave her the Tramadol. Good stuff for dogs in pain

Also look into hemp oil, Inflapotion, herbal aspirin, acupuncture and laser treatments.

We have a 12 year old Golden who can't take Tramadol or Rimadyl due to stomach issues (vomiting and bleeding).

He gets laser treatments on his hips and is a new dog for 3 or 4 weeks. Same with acupuncture. After his treatments you could tell a huge difference.

Was trying to remember my login hence the late recommendation. Been member since 2008 and very few posts but read everyday. Please try this medication: Galliprant. We have a 13 year old golden who for about two years was clearly totally miserable with arthritis and joint pain. Our vet recommended Galliprant and Bailey has been like a new dog, 5 years younger. His confidence is back walking on out hardwood floors and navigating stairs. Read about it here: https://bothellveterinarian.wordpress.com/2017/04/02/galliprant-new-arthritis-medication-for-dogs/

Beat of luck. We all love our pooches
