Do you think mentioning the Bama loss is an insult? Let's see, Clemson went head to head with the $EC's best and lost by less than a TD IN the NC game.
The closest you came was playing eventual NC Auburn in the SEC Championship with a final score of 56-17. One of your best teams got bent over and raw dogged. True story.

Day after the NC I had a a coot fan tell me that since we lost by 5 and they lost to us by 5 that they were just as good as bama.

Great point. I had a coot tell me that Clemson was on the cover of SI again. It was the one talking about bamas win and it had a pic of kearse chasing a bama player. He was laughing and thought he got me so good.
All I had to ask him was where was their picture of them playing in a big game on a cover of a magazine? Oh yeah, I forgot, you've never played in a big game. It's pretty easy to shut a coot up. It's like they think we are ashamed of coming up a little short of winning a national championship. We may be hurt or let down, but definitely not ashamed.

Clemson had two objectives going in to that game;
1 - win
2 - Don't get anyone injured
$CU has one objective
1 - Don't get embarrassed by getting blown-out by 40+
Both teams achieved their objectives so congratulations on your moral victory.
Your whole season was riding on that game. For Clemson, $CU was just a fly in the ointment or a minor irritation. We had MUCH BIGGER fish to fry.
