What else do you want from the kid? He screwed up big time but that doesn't mean he can be rehabilitated and get back on the right track. He has a substance abuse problem, the kid needs help and looks to be on the right track.

It's just not associated with physical withdrawal symptoms.
Anyone can become addicted to any mind or body-altering substance in the psychological sense.
I'm not anti-marijuana, btw. This is just a common misconception perpetuated by stoner culture.
Addiction isn't just physical. It's also mental. And if marijuana is how one chooses to self-medicate and handle other underlying problems, you can definitely become dependent on it. Just like lots of other habits.

In the sense of how drugs are classified as addictive its not.
ANYTHING can be addictive. Even Coot football.
