He had nothing but praise for Dabo and the way he handled the matter.

I have no problem with his actions (even though I don't think it's the best choice). I am hugely disappointed with his words and with his rational.

I don't really understand how he can be around football, or any sport, and not understand that the best player is supposed to play. Kelly was the best player (factoring in experience and leadership), but Trevor is slightly ahead NOW. So the only one responsible for the hurt he's feeling is himself. Did he advise all the other teammates that got beat out to leave? NO! so he was fully aware of what it takes to start, so there should not have been any real surprise. Especially since he was fully expected to continue some sort of rotation or playing time that would give him a chance to prove the decision should be reversed, but now we'll never know.

Yes it hurts to fail a test, but if you didn't study or couldn't understand the material, it's on you! Not the school or the teacher. Yes it hurts to be demoted in work, but if a better worker takes your job you can still benefit the company and make a good salary and try to take the position back. Quitting to go displace someone else at another job is a selfish and defeatist attitude.

Absolutely 100% correct!!! Dabo didn't at no time tell KB that it was a permanent take over by TL, he told him that TL had earned the right to start the next game, and that the job was still wide open. KB chose to quit and hand it over to TL without any kind of a fight.

Tucker Israel was 5th string. Who cares about the classless loser? Boyd knows what he is talking about. I think most Clemson fans can respect KB decision, I think I would do the same. I wish him the very best!

Tucker's comment highlighted what he called "fans". I'm sure he was referring to the posters who pointed out his every flaw and shortcoming every chance they got, which is to say, everytime someone posted Tucker was a threat to be the starting QB, certain "fans" immediately listed the reasons he wouldn't make it. It was completely unnecessary on the "fans" part but you know how some of us are. I empathize with him and would be a little miffed at those "fans" too.

you can whine about those "fans" all you want (some of us are alumni btw), but those shortcomings discussed are exactly what cost Kelly his job when they weren't improved and TL beat him those very spots....so who was wrong??

He just looks like an idiot throwing shade at Clemson

Sometimes being the Devils Advocate doesn't help the situation. Like every father you want the best for your family. Trevor worked hard to earn the starting QB, as did KB2. I hope the best for Kelly and the best for his NFL career. We all need to be the grown ups and professionals we need to be. Support the Team or change teams. For some of us this our is our family!! It hurts to see some leave and for others glad to see them go. The BEST for Kelly you will be missed!!

I'm sure he knows all about that pre-trial plea agreement promise. He needs to focus on why he's going to prison possibly and not worry so much about how Coach Swinney runs his program. If I'm being honest, the only difference between KB and TL is that one will play in the NFL barring any injuries and the other one has about a snowball's chance regardless of where he transfers to.

I can introduce you to Van and Jadar and I’m sure they would both be more than happy to answer your questions face to face. They love to meet loyal tiger fans especially those that make degrading, idiotic comments while never being good enough to suit up for the team themselves

Not really. But what do two classy guys who gave their all to a team you profess to be a fan of gain by whooping the a** of some cowards who wanna be some TigerNet big mouths. I searched the archives and I still can’t find neither one of you all’s jerseys on a Clemson roster

parting shots at the staff is what soured it for the fans. Of course we'd rather he stay but we understand why he would choose to roll the dice somewhere else. But to act like you deserve to play b/c you stay out of trouble is asinine.

I imagine today he probably wishes he hadn't said those things to that reporter but.. it is what its. He could come out today with a tweet and squash all this and say he spoke in teh heat of the moment and made a mistake and good luck to Trevor he'll be a great Tiger...and all this goes away.

wish KB the best. Clemson football coaches did what they felt like they had to do and so did KB. i just wish he would keep the "slap in the face" comments off the record....it helps no one and makes it sound personal. it's not personal, it's business....maybe KB didn't see the movie.

KB needs to face His Reality of not being the QB starter here, and I thank Him for His effort and persistence.
Now go suck it up and
play for Chad Morris at Ark . because Your style fits Arkansas's Offense in My Opinion !

I think that it maybe hard for him to find another team with him displaying anger bc you were beat out in open competition. Most coaches see it as not worth a problem with just one season to play!!! Now Chad may not have a problem bc he will quit in a heart beat himself!!!

I wouldn't want someone with such a distorted attitude on the team.

I praise Dabo for having recognized Trevor’s efforts and rewarding him the starting position. I’m sorry KB let his pride lead him away. Trevor wasn’t sharpe in starting and I think it gave him a valuable learning experience. KB could have stepped in a put his mark on starting again. As with a lot of dads that think their kid is the next Chipper Jones or Peyton Manning we always think our kid is going to the next level. We haul them up and down the road to camps and showcases spending huge amounts of money with no guarantees. With that being said I don’t blame KB for pursuing his dream. I just wish he had not added the parting shots. Of course he was given a chance to be the leader just couldn’t quiet take the next step. And not saying he couldn’t just appears he saw things that confirmed the inevitable. Trevor is very gifted and deserving. I think the game vs Cuse brought us closer together as a team. And it is a team sport. Hats off to Chase. You da man that never gave up.
