I wish him good luck but he may find that the grass is not always greener - don't have to look too far to see that with our guys who have left. I think you would be hard pressed to find too many where you can say they made a great move!

Bingo! That is exactly what I thought happened because I never expected him to transfer. Once it happened I was fairly sure it was related to Skalski return but Jones is a lot smaller player for ILB. But I guess he will learn when the 230lb RBs in SEC slam him few times.

They don't seem to mind smaller/faster MLB's. Patrick Queen was great for them and fits that same mold. His lack of size was exposed a bit in his rookie year in the NFL but hopefully (as a Ravens fan), he'll get a bit bigger and be able to shed blocks easier.

If he had been better suited for inside linebacker, that is where Coach BV would have played him. No better LB coach than Coach V.

Because it hasn’t for any guys who have transferred to another FBS school. I wish Mike good health but not good luck. He could have done a lot better than going to lswho.

he made the right move. I’ve yet to see transferring to pay off for anybody that has left us. But at the same time not everybody has patience like Cornell Powell who at one time wasn’t even on the team due to academic or whatever the reason was. Might’ve been during a summer semester, not sure but he is a prime example of stay patient and keep working.

Outside of machine gun Kelly, going to another school has never been a good move for transfers. Of course Kelly had no choice. I guess the kid that was Kelly Bryant’s back up was a quarterback that transferred to a lower level Florida school made the right move. Can’t remember the kids name right now. Also the CB that transferred to North Carolina seems to be doing pretty well. What’s his name McMicheal?
Having said that, I think Jones has a chance to succeed more than any of our other transfers. He really was a pretty good player. Disappointing he left, but the combination of middle linebackers coming back and Simpsons emergence probably pushed him to transfer.

You’re thinking of Zerrick Cooper. Yeah he plays at the FCS level so I don’t know how to really judge him. I think if he was good he’d be playing at a non Power 5 school atleast.
