From what I can find they did a Top 20 poll, we were 17th but fell out of the final poll. We were a 6 seed in the Tourney.

The last poll was taken before the NCAAs & we finished weak

We were 18-7 and we lost a couple at the end of the regular season then we lost in the second round of the ACC Tournament.

But, then went on an unexpected tear through the NCAAs to reach the Elite 8 and play a terrific UCLA team for a spot in the Final 4.

The NCAA field was only 48 teams back then.

That was a dream outcome, but our regular season was only average that year.

Still, when you reach the Elite 8, you are no less than 8th in the nation when all is said and done.
