The guy's he's talking about in the article were hardly highly recruited. Half of them were 3 stars even. Clemson develops players and that's an outstanding selling point in recruiting.
Zannders is going to be a star and I remember a lot of complaining when he committed. He was a 3 star.

Can you imagine what would happen if Dabo signed classes like Saban? Oh, wait, that's starting to happen now. Clemson is going to crush those people in the future with the most recent recruiting classes. This is exciting.

Also, I remember Turner being called a scrub on these sites, but they weren't saying that last year when he picked off that pass against Ohio State.
