I think LJ is showing a lot of us what it takes to be a Clemson man. When you are at the top, enjoy the ride and be ready for what comes next. I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t have a banner year in 2020. He has it. Let’s support him all the way to the Rose Bowl.

could you imagine if we put LJ and ETN in the backfield at the same time? Who would you defend? Either of the backs or worry about a quick pass to Ross, Rodgers, Ngata or Ladson among others?

How can they defend it? To many weapons on the field to stop.

Demarkcus Bowman will probably start after ETN leaves, but Dixon will get tons of carries too.

I hate to disagree but, stepping in behind two seasoned backs like LJ and ETN, you would have be an extra special player to learn all that has to learned as a blocking RB in the Elliott system and take over a seasoned RB in a program that has a LJ or an ETN going in their 3d and 4 seasons.
If I were either of those two new guys coming in, I would RS and get my body as ready as it could possibly be bc FB doesn't last through a working man career, and 4 years of college FB will pay off a lot more after getting your degree. A degree will be a plus in about everything they do during and after an NFL career, especial if they can get some kind of a business type degree from a school like Clemson university. Clemson FB players could have a guaranteed big time future if they are smart enough to get everything from their free college education along with the chance to play pro FB for a team somewhere!!! And if FB don't turn out the way they thought it would, or they have season ending injury, they have a college degree from a great university.
As good as college coaching has gotten over the past 10 years, great FB players are coming into the NFL at a number that it's more than they actually need every year, and the turn over shortens the older players careers a lot faster than it use to be!!!

He will have a whole year to learn. He will be ready as a sophomore at one point. He will leave a top 3 back in Clemson history at worst, IF he stays healthy, focused, with a good attitude. He is at a different level of talent compared to Dixon. Great one, two, punch though.

Count me in the group that thinks Bowman is more likely to be the starter in 2021 vs LJD.
ETN returning is obviously great for the program but it probably turns LJD into another Feaster: A career backup who had higher dreams.
He may not transfer this summer but probably will next summer.

The unvarnished truth is there's lots of talent in the RB room -- and the primary RB emphasis is to block for pass plays.
