Unfortunatly, the hurricane has absolutely nothing to do with the rain we are getting or the predicted rain for the weekend. That is coming from a low pressure system and nothing Al Roker says can change that fact.

well it kinda does. The system that will move through out area is strong enough to suck ran in from the hurricane. But even without the hurricane, we would still be getting lots of rain...the hurricane will just intensify the rain

If the high pressure system in the north atlantic can continue to move east and, the low pressure system will follow it and the trough of low pressure will be able to move through as the hurricane moves north and east. If the high pressure system stalls over the north atlantic, the hurricane will take a more westerly track up the east coast, holding our low pressure system over us and giving us more rain.

My bad.... didn't even realize that it was a NC State article until you pointed it out. I just saw the State Climate Office of NC banner. It is actually a pretty good paper from people that think making shadow puppets of wolf puppies at games is an intimidating and proud thing to do.
