Stay versus Go

Jan 11, 2018, 1:42 PM

Stay:
1. Have to go to classes, write papers, etc.
2. No money.
3. Live in God's favorite place, Clemson, SC.
4. Best of the best.
5. Likely play in another playoffs/natty.
6. T-net will write glowing posts of your loyalty, intelligence, values, etc.
7. Best facilities in college football.
8. Babes adore you.

Go:
1. No papers, no deadlines, etc.
2. Millionaire.
3. Live in whatever city drafts you. May be Cleveland.
4. Starting over building a reputation.
5. May be a playoff contender. May play for Cleveland.
6. T-net will rake you over the coals, question your intelligence, loyalty and values.
7. Whatever facilities your drafting team has. May be Cleveland.
8. Babes adore you and want your money.

9. Improve draft stock, earn millions.
10. Can't ever come back to college ball.

9. Get injured, lose millions. Buy insurance.

2. No money

Actually, players are now getting several thousand dollars per semester for spending outside of all the freebies such as personal training, food, housing, clothing, tuition, books, etc.

At least that is my understanding. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yup, they instituted a stipend in the 2015-2016 season, players get between $2,000 to $5,000 per year depending on which school they're at.

Add in that you get meals made for you, free clothing, etc. and the players are doing just fine.

They also used to get the "Pell in the pocket," which was the Pell Grant that you don't have to pay back.
