Spurrier to punish Clowney for driving incident?

Dec 10, 2013, 6:52 AM

What do you think he will do to the SEC first-teamer? Anything?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably suspend him for the first game next season...***

Maybe he will take away all of his free stuff from the bowl game

He'll force him to read Elf on the Shelf.***

He will suspend him May, June and July.

What would any coach do, honestly.

We'd be raising hell on here if Beasley were punished for speeding.

It was reckless driving, not just speeding.

Dec 10, 2013, 4:24 PM

If it were you or me, we probably would have been arrested.

But, it was 6 points off his license.

Clowney will not be allowed to run wind sprints at the end of 2 or 3 of their practices, if he attends any of them.

Re: Spurrier to punish Clowney for driving incident?

Dec 10, 2013, 8:55 AM

I think it would have to classify has a violation of team rules for Spurrier to do anyting, like a drug charge. I'm not sure if a speeding ticket would classify under that, but I would think anything involving the law would lead to some kind of punishment. Worse case scenario I see for Clowney in this is sitting the 1st qtr in the bowl, if that.

He will suffer no consequences from his coach and certainly no loss of playing time. On that you can be sure.

110mph!! That's an endangerment to anyone around! That's just a bit more than your avg speeding ticket(Mr. I'm doing my very best to defend the Clown but it didn't work). He's lucky he only got what he got!

Re: Spurrier to punish Clowney for driving incident?

LOL, love the righteous indignant folks around here. Just because your moped only does 27 mph, no need to crucify someone for speeding. Oh, I forgot it is because he is JD Clowney.

Re: Spurrier to punish Clowney for driving incident?

Dec 10, 2013, 6:48 PM

You can't explain anything to a coot and think they will get it. They won't, and they will use any excuse they can to say that somebody else has done something like it, but it mostly is just a way to help them justify looking the other way. They are a very sad lot.

Did Dabo punish himself for his driving incident?

Maybe Clowney should be punished if he had jumped out of the car approached the officer then started signing autographs while he was getting a ticket.

Re: Spurrier to punish Clowney for driving incident?

Dec 10, 2013, 11:55 PM

I do not really know why everyone gets so worked up about this junk. I think if someone were to go to county in Ga. that borders SC and look real closely in the Clerk of Courts records, they would find one of our players was arrested there a couple years ago. If I am not mistaken, no disciple was handed out because I am pretty sure none of our coaches ever found out he had been arrested.
I guess what I a saying is, I dont give a rip, flip, or tater chip, about traffic offenses unless they are felonies. I am not even going to get worked up about a DUI, much less Speeding.
