It wasn't really logical to think that he could improve upon the 3 year run USC had been on, or even maintain it for that matter. However, since he hadn't won the SEC during that run, he probably felt he had to return. Things might get interesting now.

It's certainly not realistic to expect next year to be a banner year for them, so does he decide to stay and patiently wait for a shot in 2016? I think he might hang it up after this season, but wouldn't be surprised if he stays. An "out" for him would be if UF did ask him to return. That would allow him to save face to a some degree.

Was told my a USC fan that the word is if he fires DC he is coming back for 5 more years if he does not he will leave next year. No idea of the truth of this.

I think if he stays he would almost certainly make changes to his staff, but this creates a dilemma for him. He doesn't want to lose the recruits in the incoming class, and that could certainly happen with big staff changes.
