Wht he ######## is gone after this year

[2]

I have never made this prediction in previous years, but feel about 90% sure this is his last year, and he has known it for a while.

1. Lattimore is going pro after this season
2. He has landed one QB since 2010, Dylan Thompson. This is one position under Spurrier where he would need to look a kid in the eye and say I will be your head coach for 4 years. This is not happened in the last few recruiting cycles.
3. The Bulk of his coaching staff took off, and it turns the sanctions where not that bad from the NCAA. Maybe they knew they better get gone, while the getting was good.
4 With 7 wins, he becomes their all time winningst ocach. How they wer able to convince the NCAA to allow him to keep those wins when several known ineligible players suited up is beyond me, but none the less good riddance. This is a record that I doubt will ever be broken.
5. Spurrier knows that there is no way he will ever win it all in any time soon with like of Saban and Les Miles and that his lone division title was likely the best the program will ever see.

Congrats Ballsack, on your 7th place rings, lone division title in the weakest SEC EAST of all time, and for doing what had not been done since Nixon was in Office, beat Clemson 3x in a row. You proved the skeptics wrong and road a donkey to the finish line in a horse race. You can leave knowing that all your record will stand, and that you will be considered the most successful coach in SCU history averaging 8 wins a season.

You should never chalk up to conspiracy what you can reliably attribute to stupidity. Because stupidity is a much more powerful force in the course of human events.

Good riddance.***

Very good points and I must say I agree with all of them. Also GOOD RIDDANCE as posted above. I don't believe there is a coach I have detested more in my 30+ years of watching college football.

yeah don't you wish. He's having too much fun with Dabo..***

Thank GOD for Dabo, with his school yard remarks 6 months ago, you revigorated Spurrier..Dabo, the gift that keeps on giving!

Revigorated how?

Posted: Jun 14, 2012 3:24 PM

I haven't heard too many little gems out of ballsack's mouth lately. Call it school yard remarks but at least it was accurate

That little diatribe that Dabo spewed 6 months ago, like a little child whose ball was taken away from him at the playground, will be played everyday over the loudspeakers at USC'S practice the week Clemson plays USC.. again thanks so much Dabo, please dont stop!

Re: Revigorated how?

Was it inaccurate though? If it were then that is one thing. But it was all true. Plus it got SOS to shut his trap for a little while.

You will lose in Nov buddy regardless...

WE OWN YOU! WE WILL OBVIOUSLY END THE STREAK SOON. GET OUTTA YOUR SYSTEM WHILE YOU CAN.

Not sure about next year

He'll be gone in the next 2-3 most likely though. Coaching is really eating up his golf time.

Point for using the proper keyword: trying. :)

Hate to break it to you guys

But Spurrier promised Connor Mitch that if he would commit to us, he would not retire before Mitch graduates. He committed. He'll probably redshirt next year, 2013, so it looks like about 2018 may be the first chance for y'alls prayers to come true. LOL And BTW, he's signed at least one QB every year. Brendon Nosevitch and Tanner McEvoy plus Mitch are the last 3 year's signees.

Agreed. Funniest dang thing I've heard all day.

He also said before last season that he was only coaching 3 more years, so you just never know.

Spurrier has never said he was coaching only 3 more years

provide a link

Re: Spurrier has never said he was coaching only 3 more years

Heard it on Kornblutt's show, which after the interview Phil said it made sense as it would be Lattimore's last year assuming he stayed 4 years.

Re: Spurrier has never said he was coaching only 3 more years

Posted: Jun 14, 2012 4:17 PM

Yet, then afterwards he signed a contract extension for another 4 years. Research Bear Bryant's record for SEC wins.

of course he did...

Posted: Jun 14, 2012 4:22 PM

his recruiting would be in the trash if he had not signed that contract.

Eventually your wishful thinking will come true.

Are 4 links enough?? And Neilly, the 4 year contract extension is for recruiting purposes---even thats been discussed before.

You two need to slink back to the coop with your feathers tucked securely between your legs

I definitely gotta disagree with ya there. I absolutely hate to admit it and want it to change asap, but their program is definitely on the rise. As to your points,

1. Lattimore will likely go pro (but only if he stays healthy, his injury can be tricky to come back to 100% from)
2. They just recruited Connor Mitch. He's unproven, could be a bust, or could be their next star.
3. with a program on the rise, they'll probably recruit some good replacement staff (but hopefully not)
4. being the all-time winningest coach at south carolina is like being the senior staff member at the night shift for subway. not gonna be the accomplishment he hangs his hat on.
5. of course there's no way that Spurrier will win it all anytime soon. but i doubt he knows that.

and honestly, i'd rather him stay now. we don't want him to leave while the program is at its peak because the head coaching spot becomes a much more attractive job for the next great coaches. i'd rather him stay on a few years and the program go back into decline before there's a replacement.

LOL.

Brought in 4 star Mike Davis at RB in the past recruiting cycle.
Bringing in a QB this Fall, who was a Parade All-American and recently got a commitment from a 4 star QB who turned down Alabama, LSU. Auburn, Tennessee and many more. He wants to break Bear Bryants records of most SEC wins. By the way, talking about winning a weak division: nothing has ever been weaker than the Atlantic Divisions in 2009 and 2011. And last year was the first time that the ACC had no team finish in the final AP Top 20 poll in over 20 years.

which we won...along with the Conference.

SEC East was pretty weak too...and you still didn't win it.

Yet Georgia was in the Top 20.

And no we did not win the division last year. But we did finish number 8 in the nation and blewout the best that the ACC had to offer.

Spurrier is saying plenty

Posted: Jun 14, 2012 3:36 PM

he just don't waste a lot of time on an OOC opponent that he's dominating.

I was worried about USC becoming bored with Clemson after their dominance over the last 3 years, but ole Dabo put those thoughts to bed with his childish untrue remarks attributed to Spurrier 6 months ago..thanks for pi$$ing Spurrier off. Keep it up Dabo!

Re: Spurrier is saying plenty

right SCar getting bored playing Clemson after 3 years of domination...you're allowed to start talking again when you put a decade together that remotely smells like 8/10

He has recently made several remarks about how he has never felt better a bout coaching and never been more comfortable. He is still only 67 and in much better physical shape after the knee surgery, so I don't think health will be an issue.

Opinions of him aside, Spurrier has a pretty good deal going at USC. He is making something like 3 million a year, the entire fanbase loves him, recruiting is very solid, and to be honest our expectations are fairly low. If he can win 8 games a year and beat Clemson he will continue to be well liked.

I don't think he leaves after 2012. He will still have Clowney, Shaw, and a slew of others in 2013. I think he stays at least until the end of that seasons.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, except that the entire fanbase loves him. Maybe all love what he has done, but many in the fanbase thinks he is a lunatic.

The links did not say he was coaching ONLY 3 more years

Posted: Jun 14, 2012 4:30 PM

but y'all can keep hoping since the Big 12 bubble burst for you. don't forget to include the chicken Curse and the ban hammer in your prayers for Spurrier to please retire.

Re: The links did not say he was coaching ONLY 3 more years

Posted: Jun 14, 2012 4:42 PM

You can read into what you want, truth is Spurrier probably does not know when he is retiring. But in listening to him last summer, I think he felt real good about his chances of winning a NC by then. That is his motivation, it may be next year who knows, but don't fool yourself to think his promise to Mitch Connor means anything. Spurrier wants to win and cares little about most of his players.

I honestly hope he stays after we beat you this year.

So Dabo can even then surpass your cheating, mediocre coach.

Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- USC head football coach Steve Spurrier says he plans on coaching three more years.

He's staying only to get the record for most wins by a cock.

Two things have to happen for SS to leave SCU.

1: He gets offered more money some where else.

2: He wins the SEC.

So he will die at SCU.
