Spot for softball stadium?

Mar 14, 2017, 10:56 AM

I'm incredibly excited for softball. Space is super limited. There is that spot between the esso and LJC. Its just a bunch of trees. So no parking is lost. I'm just not sure how big that spot actually is. I'm looking at it on google maps.

Thoughts?

Isn't that spot on a hill though?

Theyll probably use the baseball practice area

It is on a hill. But I figure they can mend that problem. And yeah, that would be a good option too

That's what heavy equipment is for. Dirt can be moved very quickly.

I'm guessing Jervey Meadows...

beyond the outfield of the baseball stadium.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I think we should start moving to the Clemson Forest area. Or out by the botanical gardens. UGA is by the gardens and they fill it up

Why? Attendance is going to be sparse anyway ...

... have to put it somewhere where students can walk too. Not off campus or on the edge of campus.

Nation's first floating softball facility , all home runs and foul balls land in Lake Hartwell ...because built out on a manmade island .
As a licensed merchant marine and a professional navigator I will volunteer my services in organizing and operating the ferry boats to and from the new facility .
This could be yuge , really the best !

This should be posted in the softball forum.

I highly doubt that space is wide enough.

It's less than 400' from SC 93 to the road for parking beside Littlejohn.

Jervey Meadows obviously seems like the most logical spot.

Lots of areas that make some sense, most affect football parking.

A great little spot that it would fit nicely in is the intramural field between Fike and SC 93(Do they still play the intramurals in this area or is that all at Y Beach now?) That location would make it feel more like a part of campus.

I would love to see it go in the spot that I mentioned because it would actually create additional parking. And we all know how terrible parking in Clemson is. If they essentially put home plate in the corner of 93 and Centennial, there would be enough room. 190 feet to the foul poles and 235 to the center. I think that would be an awesome spot for it. So there would even be seating behind home plate available still.
