We're 96th in the FBS in average starting field position! We could easily improve this just by taking a knee in the end zone on kickoffs. Rather than trying to return it and only getting to the 15 or the 20 like we've done most of the time, we could start at the 25. The days of CJ Spiller and his great returns are long gone. Until we can get a reliable return game we're better off taking a knee.

Teams know this, wouldn't be surprised if some teams kicked short to us for this reason.

One of very few exploits this team has this season. Problem with this issue is that it's been visible for several years in a row.

Special teams were the only thing that gave Florida a chance against Alabama. Of course our offense isn't as horrible as theirs but special teams could be the difference in the game.

Agreed, the return game could decide this one. We also have given up several long returns and some went for 6. We need good field position and we have to cover kicks. We did good against the Sooners, let's go. Go Tigers!

endzone in a while. Problem is people are short-kicking us, dropping the ball around the 5 or so, then we have to run it and they stop us before the 25 usually.
