Speaking on the PA in large stadiums is weird...

Jan 13, 2019, 1:39 PM

I was a Clemson Cheerleader. I spoke a couple of times on the microphone in Death Valley. Unless you have earplugs or a speaker right in front of you like musicians at concerts you draw out your words.
When you start to talk there is about 2-3 second delay before you hear yourself and it really messes with your head!
I say this to give the Coke lady a break. Every last one of us would sound exactly like her unless you have tried it before.

Thank you for posting this as I’ve heard this stated before. Poor lady was just struggling with it. Give her a break.

While I agree with your assessment, it has turned out to be a huge marketing play for Coke. How many times has someone mentioned the Coke lady since Saturday. Brilliant!

Yeah no kidding. It's cool that Clemson and T-Net helped

create "Coke Lady". No championship, no Coke lady.

Personally I feel that she should be fired from Coca Cola, ridiculed, stripped of her personal possesions, and have her Church membership revoked. To start. Simply because of the fake - “YALL”

But that’s just me. Carry on

Several persons spoke that day

We’re they all wearing earplugs except her?

It’s hard to explain til you’ve tried it but as the person said above

Jan 13, 2019, 3:39 PM

It affects some worse than others. Due to my cheerleading experience at Clemson I spoke in front of large crowds many times in Coleseums, Pep rally’s, and amphitheater’s. I had no trouble in those arenas but I had a difficult time with the mic in Death Valley without earplugs.

It’s especially hard when drunk.

We were in the west end zone and you could barely understand what any of the speakers were saying. It was a poor audio set up
