Not included in Missouri's recruiting rankings are the 2 QBs they have had transfer in in the last couple of weeks.

I'm not sure if that makes up the gap but it certainly makes it closer.

Yet 21st in the country. Just shows how hard it is to win in the SEC.

coots recruiting class ranking is consistently higher than their actual ranking based on results. coots recruiting is either overrated or the team is under performing, there is no other way to read that.

If the SEC is too competitive, maybe, just maybe, y'all would have been better off by staying independent (like Notre Dame in football) or begging for forgiveness from the ACC so you could compete with teams like Wake Forest more often.

Re: shoulda stood in the ACC

Yeah. That whole seceding idea was overrated. Thought you were being held back in the ACC, but willing to become the runt of the SEC in order to ride the coattails to lofty heights--like #21 at 7-5. How's the air up there?

Hey if they left the SEC and went independent they could schedule FCS teams every week and then claim a National Championship. ?????? Or maybe a better option would be if they decided to join the AAC and win some Conference titles down there.

We'll wait, always seem to have excuses.

I would say you make a good point--by Gamecock logic.

See, your fans and recruiters can 'sell' the school by saying, "Come play in the SEC against the best athletes. On a good year, we compete for 8th place."

Meanwhile Tigers are saying, "Come play at Clemson with the best athletes. On an average year, we go undefeated against the SEC and play their daddy in the CFP."

Beyond that, I'm curious as to how these JuCo transfers have so much difficulty becoming academically eligible for SEC schools, but then never have trouble staying eligible. Yeah, i realize that compliance staff are the unsung heroes of your football teams, but come on, a jock with a 1250 composite SAT (on a 2400 scale) doesn't suddenly learn how to think analytically just by walking onto an SEC campus. At least they attend real classes--better than we can say for our Tarhole brethren--but if they cannot speak in complete sentences, do you really want them scoring TDs for you?

Sure you do. You're in the SEC.

Add Norfolk State and UNC Charlotte

and you've got UGA's gauntlet of a schedule.

Now I see what Herbstreit was upset about.
